Goldie
Meet Goldie, a 5-year-old German Shepherd cross who is hoping her forever family finds her soon! While she still has plenty of energy for outdoor adventures, Goldie is also content to curl up by your side at the end of the day. She enjoys her daily walks, but she’s equally happy just hanging out at home with her family. Goldie is a quick learner and responds well to training, making her a joy to work with!
Goldie will do best in a calm, loving environment where she can feel spoiled and appreciated. She would prefer a home where she is the only animal and has your complete love and devotion. Goldie would prefer a home with older children or adults who can give her the attention she needs. If you think Goldie could be the right fit for your family, please contact us to arrange a meet-and-greet.
Goldie’s adoption fee is $460.00 She’s been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and treated for internal/external parasites.

Fern
Meet Fern, a beautiful 5-year-old tabby cat! A delightful adult feline with a heart full of affection. Despite her cerebellar hypoplasia, Fern doesn’t let anything slow her down. She’s a bubbly spirit, brimming with love and playfulness. She enjoys a good game of chase the feather, and her cuddly nature makes her the perfect companion for cozy evenings. Fern’s condition requires special care, but her sweet disposition more than makes up for it. Her infectious joy and resilience can brighten up any home.
Fern would like a home where she is the only feline but would likely settle with a calm canine friend. She will require some modifications in her home to keep her safe when her wobbles get the best of her! A separate room with no hazards is a must. Ferns foster mom is more than happy to talk with potential adopters about the modifications Fern will require in the home.
Fern’s adoption fee is $200.00 and includes her vaccines, microchip, spay surgery, and she’s been treated for internal/external parasites.
Adopters will receive a $25 gift certificate from Ren’s Pets and a pet care booklet from Pet Valu with coupons worth up to $300. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen
Meet Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and Vixen!
These sweet pups were born in our care in September and are ready to find their forever homes!
They’re all very sweet, social, and friendly with everyone they meet.
Because they’re so young, they are suitable to be adopted to homes with cats, dogs, and children!
Slow, proper introductions are the key to ensuring a positive response from existing animals in the home.
Keep in mind, these puppies will make wonderful companions but will require training. They’re not yet housebroken and are teething. Puppies require structure, consistency, and engagement to ensure they grow up to become well adjusted companions.
They need plenty of appropriate chew toys, you should puppy proof your home and make sure you have no toxic plants, or electrical cords within reach.
Come on in and meet these sweet pups!
All dogs and cats adopted at HSHPE have been vaccinated, microchipped and have been treated for internal and external parasites, when needed. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, once old enough.
Adopters will receive a $25 gift certificate from Ren’s Pets and a pet care booklet from Pet Valu with coupons worth up to $300.
Adopters who bring the paperwork from their HSHPE adoption to PetSmart Belleville or Kingston will receive a booklet with coupons worth up to $300.

Shiloh
My name is Shiloh, and I’m a German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a zest for life. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who can keep up with your active lifestyle, look no further!
I’m a vibrant and energetic girl who thrives on activity! Whether it’s chasing a ball, going on hikes, or engaging in some challenging training exercises, I’m always ready for action. I promise to keep you on your toes and ensure that your days are never dull.
While I am full of enthusiasm and affection, I do best in a home where I can be the center of attention. Younger children make me uncomfortable. I have a high prey drive and seem to like kitties a little too much, I’m selective of the dog friends I keep and require a dog savvy and patient owner who will give me the time I require to coexist peacefully.
I’m looking for a loving and experienced owner who can provide me with the exercise, training, and mental stimulation I crave. In return, you’ll get a devoted and protective companion who will always have your back and shower you with unconditional love.
Shiloh’s adoption fee is $100.00 and includes vaccinations, microchip, spay and she’s been treated for internal and external parasites!
Shiloh’s Wishlist:
- Heavy duty tug toys or XL Kongs.
- A home that’s close to hiking trails.
Violin
- Violin is a gorgeous, stripped tabby cat! At only 1.5 years old she is very playful and curious and would make a great addition to any home! She has been waiting for her second chance since May. She recently spent some time in a home and her foster mom had so many wonderful things to say about Violin!
Here are just a few of the reasons Violin would make the puuurr-fect companion!
- Loves attention and enjoys being brushed.
- Comfortable around guests and strangers, including toddlers.
- Affectionate but doesn’t like being held.
- Vocal and food motivated.
She gets along well with other cats, given they’re introduced properly and have a similar spry, energetic personality. She’s not been dog tested but this can be arranged with an approved adoption application.
Violin’s adoption fee is $200.00 and includes vaccinations, microchip, spay and she’s been treated for internal and external parasites!

Mouche
Meet Mouche! A 5-year-old old Flemish Giant!
Mouche arrived in our care as a stray, in poor condition with significant fur loss and injuries to his neck and head. After receiving the necessary medical care and undergoing his neuter, he is now fully healed and ready to find his forever home!
Mouche is a sweet, gentle companion who will thrive in a home that allows him to adjust at his own pace. He loves head and ear scratches, though he is not fond of being picked up. Food and treats are the way to his heart, and with patience and positive reinforcement, you’ll quickly become his best friend.
Mouche would do best in a home with adults or older children (8+), where he can feel secure and settled.
Like all rabbits in HSHPE care, Mouche is provided a litter box to work on litter training while waiting for adoption. He will require an extra-large living space (an exercise pen is ideal) and plenty of time outside of his enclosure to exercise and play. Rabbits will not thrive if left in a small cage; this is a cruel and sad existence that often creates behavioral and medical issues. Providing your new companion attention, exercise, enrichment items, hideouts and toys will ensure they live a happy, healthy, and mentally stimulating life.
All rabbit adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, RHDV1 and RHDV2 vaccine, and a gift card from Ren’s Pets!
Mouche’s Wishlist:
- Wooden chew toys
- Timothy hay
Little Boy Blue

Boy Blue would thrive in a home with other cats, he can be a little timid at first and is looking for a loving and patient family who will allow him time to adjust to his new life.
Come and meet our sweet as pie, Little Boy Blue!

Rolo
Meet Rolo, an exuberant and fun-loving dog who’s been searching for his forever home since July. With boundless energy and a heart full of affection, Rolo is always ready for an adventure. Whether you’re looking for a jogging partner, a buddy for long walks, or someone to play fetch with for hours, Rolo is up for it all. His enthusiasm is contagious, and he’s sure to keep you entertained.
Though Rolo is full of personality, he is still working on refining his manners and would benefit from some training to help him channel his excitement. Due to his high energy and tendency to be dog-reactive, Rolo would do best in a home where he is the only pet. He’s not suited for homes with cats or other small animals, as he can be overwhelmed by their presence.
Rolo’s ideal home would be with an active, experienced owner who can provide him with the structure, attention, and training he needs to thrive. He will flourish in a calm, pet-free environment where he can focus on building a strong bond with his new family.
All animals available for adoption at HSHPE have been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered, and have been treated for internal/external parasites.
Adopters will receive a $25 gift certificate from Ren’s Pets and a pet care booklet from Pet Valu with coupons worth up to $300. Plus, adopters who bring the paperwork from their HSHPE adoption to PetSmart Belleville or Kingston will receive a booklet with coupons worth up to $300.

Chardonnay
Hello there, I’m Chardonnay! My world is a kaleidoscope of new experiences as I’m still young and learning. I may seem shy at first, but don’t let that fool you. I’m just taking my time to understand my surroundings. Once I’m comfortable, you’ll see my sweet, gentle nature. I’m quite the smarty too, quickly figuring out puzzles for my favorite treats. My life in the shelter is safe, but I long for a home where I can stretch my legs and explore. I promise to bring joy and a sense of tranquility to your life. Adopt me, and let’s embark on a journey of mutual growth and companionship.
Chardonnays coat is thick and fluffy and will require regular grooming to prevent matting!
Like all rabbits in HSHPE care, Chardonnay is provided a litter box to work on litter training while waiting for her forever home. She will require a large living space (an exercise pen is ideal) and plenty of time outside of her enclosure to exercise and play. Rabbits will not thrive if left in a small cage; this is a cruel and sad existence that often creates behavioral and medical issues. Providing your new companion attention, exercise, enrichment items, hideouts and toys will ensure they live a happy, healthy, and mentally stimulating life.
Chardonnay is bonded with her best friend, Reisling and they must be adopted together. Their adoption fee is $120 which includes spay/neuter surgery, RHDV1 and RHDV2 vaccine, and a gift card from Ren’s Pets!
Chardonnay’s Wishlist:
- Rabbit toys and chews
- X-pens
Millipede
Meet the oh so sweet Millipede! This brave gal came to us in July and was in extremely poor shape. She was weak and host to many different parasites. Millipede was suffering from fly strike and if not found when she was, her chance of survival was bleak.
Millipede is a fighter and survived the odds stacked against her. She is a beautiful 7-month-old, stripped tabby cat with piercing amber eyes.
Millipede gets along well with other cats, but from what we’ve seen, she’s not interested in sharing her home with any dogs. She would be well suited to a home with older children, or adults. Once she is comfortable in her environment, she’s an incredibly sweet cat who will fill your heart and home with love.
All dogs and cats adopted at HSHPE have been vaccinated, microchipped and spay/neutered, and have been treated for internal and external parasites, when needed.
Millipede’s Wishlist:
- Cat tree to perch on
- Catnip toy
Fred
Meet Fred, the one-year-old Bulldog mix who’s got more energy than a double shot of espresso and a personality that’s sure to keep you entertained!
Fred is the ultimate go-getter. Whether it’s a hike, a run, or just chasing squirrels (don’t worry, he never catches them), Fred is ready to go, go, go! He’s still got a lot to learn, so if basic training is your jam, Fred is your perfect match. Think of him as your personal project-a lovable, bouncy ball of energy that just needs a little direction.
Because Fred is basically a canine Energizer Bunny, we think he’d do best in an adult only home. Cats? not a good idea-Fred does not like them one bit. But with a proper introduction, he might just find a best buddy in another dog.
So, if you’re ready for a dog who’s equal parts adventure and comedy, Fred is waiting for you. Lace up those hiking boots, grab the leash, and get ready for a whirlwind of fun!
All animals available for adoption at HSPHE have been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered, and have been treated for internal/external parasites.

- Large rope/tug toys
